My idea for this project is to add onto my color theory final. I previously created a piece called "Charity Suffereth Long" on cardboard and paper bags. This piece draws inspiration from the Bible verse “Charity Suffereth Long” from 1 Corinthians 13:4 in the King James Version. This phrase highlights the enduring nature of God's love—patient and kind. However, I aimed to explore the absence of that love, creating an abstract representation of purgatory, disguised by vibrant colors. My vision includes three menacing demons and a suffering human in the corner, whose screams remain unheard. I find the concept of purgatory intriguing, filled with endless possibilities. It may not be a physical space but rather an abstract realm characterized by emptiness and paradoxical beauty, where those trapped are more defined by their presence than the place itself. I'm going to cut off the extra pieces of cardboard and mount it to the wall so it looks like a cloud of some sort.

With Mad Mapper, I'm going to use moving imagery with wavey visuals -- such as roses, acid-visuals, pool water, and other swirly, trippy gifs. I want the background to move off the surface and feel like one is in liminal space. I also want to play with the idea of trying to cut out shapes of the faces with lighter trippy patterns and making them light up at different times. I want the physical piece of art to pop off the wall rather than just being one shade of trippy lines.

I'm very excited to add onto this project and can't wait for the final result!
